1 1 BODY LANGUAGE - SIGNALS OF DISCOMFORT

Sep 27 2003

By Robert Phipps

BODY language specialist Robert Phipps has 18 years' experiencespottingthe hiddensignalsinhuman behaviour.

He said: ``This was not a confident performance at all. He didn't even have a smile for Richard and Judy and throughout the interview constantly fiddled with his left hand.

``He obviously wasn't comfortable with the situation, even though he chose this as his first interview due to the support Richard and Judy had given him.

``Asked if he hated Ulrika, John delayed answering the question.

He took his time and his eyes went up to the right side of his head, which means he was using the left sideofhisbrain, which is the analytical side.

``So he was choosing his words very carefully. The only point at which he really moved was when Richard asked about the rough sex.

`Was that in his past?' he asked.

``John stumbled over his words and tried to say something two or three different ways.

``But he couldn't and the only way he could compose himself was to change his posture completely, showing a lot of discomfort with the question. This was not the slick John Leslie we know.''
